Once you're ready to go, Carl gives you the ABC's of good drumming technique; covering basic stick grip techniques as well as demonstrating the fundamental rudiments. In the final section, you are given the 4 basic drum grooves that every drummer needs to develop in order to cover all the patterns that you will encounter in most contemporary music patterns using 8th notes, 16th notes, triplets and shuffles (including swing and hip hop). Drums & Percussion: The Next Step In this second video by drummer/percussionist Carl Albrecht, expanding beyond basics becomes the central theme.
